Programs
 

Erasmus+ is a Programme its main objective is to support the creation of a European Area of Higher Education and reinforce the contribution of Higher and Vocational Education to advance the innovation process.

Through the Erasmus+ Programme, the Higher Education Institutions can offer to its students, teachers and administrative staff a period of studies or work experience, education or training missions in Higher Education Institutions or Foreign Companies in countries eligible for program, with a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of one academic year, thus enriching the range of academic training of its people through contact with other cultures and learning other skills and competencies in the areas of specialization as intended.

The IPVC under the ERASMUS program offers the following types of decentralized, managed by the National Agency:

Student Mobility

  • the realization of a period of Studies (SMS)
  • the realization of a period of Professional Practice (SMP)
  • the realization of a period of Practice as graduate
  • the realization of a period of Practice as education Assistant

 Staff Mobility - Teaching Assignments (STA)

  • Academic Staff of National Higher Education Institution (HEI)  - can teach at a foreign HEI
  • Staff of a foreign company, at the invitation of a National Higher Education Institution (HEI) – can teach at National HEI

 Staff Mobility - Vocational Training (STT)

  • Academic Staff and Non-Teaching National Higher Education Institution (HEI), can make training in a foreign HEI
  • Academic Staff and Non-Teaching National Higher Education Institution (HEI), can make training in a foreign company

Objectives

The Erasmus+ has as main objectives:

  • Contribute to the development lifelong learning quality and the possibilities conferred by it
  • Enhance personal fulfilment, social cohesion, active citizenship and European citizenship
  • To promote creativity, competitiveness and employability
  • Increase participation in lifelong learning
  • Promoting learning and linguistic diversity
  • Explore the results, products and innovative processes

Operational Objectives

  • Improve and enhance multilateral cooperation
  • Increase the degree of transparency and compatibility between qualifications
  • Improve the cooperation between higher education and business
  • Develop innovative practices in education and training at tertiary level
  • Support the development of content, services, pedagogies and innovative ICT-based learning in the field of lifelong learning

 Benefits

Being Erasmus student actually has several advantages. Besides enjoy of a plan of studies or training abroad in their area of expertise, thereby enriching their academic curriculum, can attend a course for improving the language agreed to carry out the study period and enjoy cultural programs specifically designed for Erasmus students by host universities.

Regarding the fees, any Erasmus student is free from payment of tuition at host Universities will only pay the normal fee in their own home Education Institution.

In the partner universities, the Erasmus students will be properly monitored by an Erasmus Coordinator for the duration of studies, so that any difficulties could be resolved with the assistance of the Coordinator.
