PresentationThe Informatics Engineering graduate course is designed according to modifications made to the education system basic law that derived from the implementation of the Bologna Process in the Portuguese higher education system, and resulted from the adjustment of the previous two-stage Information Systems Engineering course, existing in the Higher School of Technology and Management of the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo, since 2002/2003. Course Coordinator Course AimsAccording to the Decree Law of Academic Degrees and Higher Education Diplomas, the main goals of each degree cycle have been established considering the competences that should be acquired, adopting the results of the European level collective work that was concretized in the Dublin descriptors. In this context, the graduate degree shall be conferred to students that demonstrate to have acquired the cognitive, practical and relational competences needed to practice professionally as Informatics Engineer and that spawn through Analysis, Design, Development, Maintenance and Administration of Computer Systems and Consulting. Length and professional profileThe Informatics Engineering graduate course is 3 years long.
