Master in Integrated Design (MDI) is designed to develop the concept of a comprehensive profile of the designer, through a training plan in the discipline of project, developed over three semesters. Modules integrate design, multimedia and technology production. It is intended to strengthen synergies and enhance the project activity with more realism and success.

The project disciplines are supplemented by inputs from other disciplines in a global harmony. One of the strategies of MDI is thus to establish partnerships with companies and other institutions, aiming to approach investigation and production activity.

Course Aims

  • To develop the integrated design concept, improving the project interdisciplinary and relating the project thematic with production companies
  • To train skilled designers to enhance small and medium companies competitiveness (bearing in mind that the value of design has evolved from an object-oriented perspective to a strategic planning perspective)

Length and Professional Profile

The course is structured as a cycle of studies leading to a second degree, with a total of 120 credits distributed across four semesters.

Career Opportunities

The MSc in Integrated Design aims to create a professional profile able to get involved in the strategic plan of a company, in multidisciplinary teams, contributing to the definition of product scenarios and hence in developing the companies’ identity.

Entry Requirements:

  • Holders of a bachelor´s degree or another legal equivalent in Design, Art, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering
  • Holders of a foreign academic degree, which is recognized as meeting the objectives of a bachelor´s degree by the competent scientific board of the higher education institution where they intend to be admitted
