ACCOMMODATION AND RESIDENCES

 
 
 
Living in Portugal
 

To support the students, the Social Services [SAS] have five Residences (with a total capacity of 493 beds).

  • Residence 1 Academic Center (Pink Residence), with capacity for 180 students, male and female - Address: Largo 9 de Abril | Apartado 186 | 4901-911 Viana do Castelo;
  • Residence 2 ESE, with capacity for 116 students - Address: Rua Ferreira de Castro | 4900-431 Viana do Castelo;
  • Residence 3 ESA Refóios - Ponte de Lima with the ESA, with capacity for 129 students - Address: Lugar do Convento | Refoios | 4990-690 Ponte de Lima;
  • Centro Social e Paroquial de Santa Maria Maior (Erasmus Residence) with 68 beds, in Viana do Castelo - Address: Avenida 25 Abril, Santa Maria Maior 4900-496 VIANA DO CASTELO;
  • Pousada da Juventude em Melgaço (youth hostel in Melgaço)- Address: Complexo Desportivo Monte Prad, Melgaço, Portugal, 4960-320.

The rooms at the Residences are double or triple with a shower and toilet, heating, desk, wardrobe. The cleanness of the room as well as the change of the bed linen and towels is made by the Residence Hall’s Services, every week. There is a communal kitchen – equipped with fridge, microwaves, and house wares, such as cutlery, dinnerware, glassware and dishwashing machine. There are no communal machines in this Residence for students to wash their clothes; however the Services of the Residence will wash, dry and iron the clothes (prices available for consulting).

All students must fill and send the Application Form for Accommodation.

Prices and types of accommodation

The Halls of Residence have double and triple rooms at a cost around 120€/month. Students in Halls have access to social and study facilities such as TV and study rooms, bar, laundry and Students Canteen. Prices outside the Halls may vary according to the place and type of accommodation.

It is also possible to rent an apartment at a cost of 375€ to 500€ per month.

In the Halls of Residence as in the apartments, students must to pay a deposit for damages, as the same amount as the rent, which will be returned at the end of stay or used to pay the last month rent, if there is no damage in the room or apartment.
